RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON

“We have a choice. We can tear each other apart or we can come together and build a better world. It’s not too late.” – Chief Benja

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ epic adventure RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON arrives on all major digital platforms beginning April 2, and on 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™ and DVD beginning May 18. Including never-before-seen bonus footage and deleted scenes.

Disney’s newest princess, Raya, takes us on the ultimate adventure.

The adventure begins when Raya and her father attempt to reunite fellow leaders of other kingdoms that once made up Kumandra. Raya, princess of Heart, makes a new warrior princess friend, Namaari. They bond over their love for dragons and swords. Raya gives her new friend a peek at the sacred dragon gem and quickly learns that her new friend was putting on an act to gain Raya’s trust. Once Raya discloses the location of the hidden gem all the leaders and guest from the other kingdoms quickly turn on each other to get a piece of the gem that they broke while trying to keep for themselves. The breaking of the gem unleashes the Druun, a plague that turns people into statues, which turns the world into a broken and dark Earth. Countless people are turned into statues including Raya’s father and her trust for people and humanity is as dark as the world itself.

Six years later, Raya is on a mission along with an armadillo friend which she uses as transportation to save her father. She gains a sidekick in Sisu, the last dragon, which helps guide her along the way. Sisu transforms from dragon to human form to help Raya on her quest while bringing on lots of laugh with her spirited personality. Most importantly she helps Raya to have faith and see the goodness in people again.

As Raya goes to the other four kingdoms in attempts to reunify the gem she is in constant battle and escape from Namaari. Throughout her journey we can see the difference in the kingdoms from wasteland to beautiful places full of Southeast Asian culture with floating markets and water taxis. While on her voyage, Raya ends up adding companions from each kingdom to her team, including a “con artist” baby and her three monkey like friends.

There is an epic battle between Raya and Namari, but the biggest battle is within. They must learn to trust each other again regardless of their history of betrayal. Sisu is a guide and influence on both with its whose unrelenting positivity and faith in the goodness in everyone.

🐉 Thank you Disney for sending us the digital copy of Raya and the Last Dragon 🐉 We watched it today and knew we had to celebrate with a trip to Downtown Disney to get some pictures by this mural.
The story is so beautiful, rich in culture and filled with powerful messages that are relatable to the time we are living in today.
Raya and the Last Dragon takes you on an epic adventure filled with suspense, heartfelt moments and lots of laughs. I love when my kids can experience other cultures in such a magical way! Sisu 🐉voiced by Awkwafina is hilarious! We absolutely loved her! Also, I found it so refreshing that it is NOT a romantic love story and instead displays the importance of family, trusting and community while promoting women empowerment and courage!
