Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available on Digital and will be release on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD July 26.
I absolutely loved watching this movie, and let me tell you a secret…. I never watched a Doctor Strange movie before. Shhh don’t tell anyone! I am telling you so that you do not worry if you haven’t seen any Marvel movies, you don’t need to. I’m sure it helps you be more invested in the characters, but I loved it without knowing anything about them. The storyline was really good and as a mom, it really pulls on your heart strings when (SPOILER ALERT) you see the villain doing evil things just to be a mom. I was surprised at some of the darkness in the film but it was fun to be a little scared without it being a full blown scary movie.
Another thing of note is the new character for this movie, America Chavez. I was almost brought to tears when I saw the representation of this awesome Latina kicking butt! The part was played by actress Xochilt Cruz, who I googled immediately and read that she is American with parents of Mexican descent just like me (brb crying). I absolutely LOVED that she spoke Spanish and they even had Doctor Strange speaking some Spanish too! It made me so proud to see this representation that actually seemed real, like I could be her. Thank you Marvel and Disney for giving us Latinas this amazing representation, because like I keep saying REPRESENTATION MATTERS!

I am super excited to watch it again at home. Now that I watched it, I know that it is fine for my boys to watch (their ages are 9 and 12). Each parent can decide on how much “scary” their kids can watch, but this was something I think is ok for my boys.
Also, prepare for an abundance of Scarlett Witch costumes this year for Halloween, she was really cool to watch and I am already planning to dress up as her for one of my many planned costumes this year!
