Big Tree Park in Glendora, California

Adventuring at this fig tree 🌳 that’s over a century old!

This “Big Tree” was planted in the 1880’s by one of Glendora’s early residents. It’s thought to be the largest Moreton Bay Fig in SoCal. It has multiple trunks, approximately 100 feet tall and 50 feet in diameter, with roots stretching over 1,200 feet.

The house it belonged to was torn down in the 1960’s so the city took possession and made it into this 15,000-square-foot “Big Tree Park” with a historical marker.

If you’d like to visit, you can find street parking at Big Tree Park which is just south of Historic Route 66. It’s a small park with a few benches and a gazebo, perfect for a picnic 🧺

The exact address is 665 S Santa Fe Ave, Glendora, CA 91740.
